Taewoong 12,000 Ton Open Die Forging Press

Oilgear was contracted to assist with the design, engineering and planning to manufacture the world's largest two column pull down open die forging press equipment.

Oilgear's scope was to provide :

• The Hydraulic Drive & Electrical Control System
• Hydraulic Drive & Electrical Control installation
• Start up & Commissioning

The system Oilgear supplied is the latest design in high performance forging press control systems consisting of 12 PFCS440, 900HP pumps which are each capable of delivering 800l/min at 500bar, from which by means of an integrated control between the Oilgear system and the 400MT rail-bound forging manipulator we can obtain 80SPM with an accuracy of +/-1.0mm.

We were able to realize such a high performance due to  the specially designed hydraulic system which incorporates special Oilgear Fast Acting Servo Controlled Amplifier Valves together with our time proven Fast Forge Valve and Accumulator Return System, for fast shock-free forging.
