Oilgear Towler has produced descaling equipment for nearly half a century. In 1983
Oilgear purchased the Salem valve Co. product line.

Oilgear has continued to improve the product line through design, materials and manufacturing techniques. While continuing to offer new equipment, and repair and maintenance of existing equipment in the field, Oilgear also introduced new descaling valves making use of venting valve technology. These new valves have a reliable performance and long service life requiring less maintenance and down time and can be retrofit to systems currently using Salem technology.

Customers currently using Oilgear descaling equipment include Bethlehem steel (USA), Duferco (Belgium), JISCO (China), SOLLAC (France) and Corus strip products (UK).
